Forest Hill Memorial Park

Location Forest Hill, Texas Year 2013 Client AUI Contractors
A token of gratitude for the men and women who selflessly served and continue to serve every day.

Pacheco Koch was selected by the City of Forest Hill to work with their selected contractor, AUI, in designing and constructing a memorial park dedicated to community members that have served, or are currently serving, in the armed services or as public safety officers. The City provided a highly visible site that had been donated for the park, including visitor parking lots with associated drainage and memorial monumentation.

Pacheco Koch first conducted a series of design work sessions with a select design committee consisting of the City Manager, the Economic Development Director, three city councilmen, and the police and fire chiefs. Work sessions were held weekly during the design and construction phases to receive input and reaction to each component of the Memorial. The final design resulted in monuments for the names of current and fallen military members from each of the five service branches. Each service has its own memorial, with the service emblem, service flag, and engraved names of the honorees. Two specific monuments are dedicated to fallen public safety officers from Forest Hill and for MIA/POW military personnel. Several thousand attended its dedication on Memorial Day in 2013.
