In a decision to improve efficiency, Caterpillar moved its engine production plant operations to Texas. And improve it did, yielding an increase in profits by five percent. As the civil engineers on the project, Pacheco Koch analyzed the 640-acre drainage basin and designed a retention pond to work with the existing TxDOT culvert to support the plant’s 1.6 million square feet of operations. In the course of three years, the project consisted of two buildings across 185 acres.
