For the past several years, Pacheco Koch has operated as the preferred civil, survey and traffic engineering consultant for the American Airlines Skyview Headquarters Campus. Lead by multiple nationally recognized firms spearheading multiple projects, Pacheco Koch served as a commonality between these disparate groups, encouraging collaboration and cohesion between the overlapping projects. As part of the 300-acre development, Pacheco Koch assisted with the design of two parking garages, an Integrated Operations Center, simulator building, 600-key privately operated hotel and hospitality complex, utility master plan, north campus master plan, and a campus mobility plan.
With the growing demand on the campus, Pacheco Koch worked closely with the owner to develop a utility master plan and implement the necessary design changes to allow for the campus to function holistically. Out of necessity, and as part of several projects, the existing public sanitary sewer serving the site was increased in size and relocated to minimize the impacts to the natural site features (trees, creeks, topography, etc.). From a transportation perspective, the campus mobility plan focused on optimizing vehicular accessibility from the public roadway system and providing multiple options for alternative modes of travel within the campus.
The southern half of the campus is expected to complete construction in July 2020, with the hospitality complex coming online in Q2 of 2021. Master planning for the reconstruction of the northern half of the campus is currently underway and expected to start design in mid/late 2020.
